Not listening to their players I do not know what you’re talking about, they have been doing regular q&a blog posts which were huge because they answered every question they took.
They have been hiring new staff this year so hopefully that makes for a better development pace. Improving the game in the past year they have done a few decent steps and now the UI is another step in the right direction. If you’re interested in endurance there is a few which get 30+ cars.
League-wise you can easy get into races with 30 people. But for quick open races you have the official open servers or the competition system which can have as low as 1 or 2 opponents but commonly you get 10+ at prime times.
It’s quieter than AC/C, partially because it is harder so there’s more of a learning curve.
